Legally Wired

Expert insights on how law, technology, and innovation can build a sustainable future that works for everyone.

About

Our podcast journey began in 2022 at the Copenhagen Legal Tech Lab, in the University of Copenhagen’s Faculty of Law. From the start, we aimed to bridge law, business and technology, breaking these topics down in a clear and straightforward way.

Across three seasons at the Lab, we built a foundation for understanding this intersection. The first two seasons introduced key technology and concepts before taking a deeper look at how they were being implemented in practice. The third season, created in partnership with the UWA Tech and Policy Lab, broadened the conversation through an examination of Big Tech and its impact on society.

In 2025, the journey continued to Aotearoa New Zealand. With the establishment of ALTeR at the University of Auckland, the podcast was reborn as “Legally Wired“. Echoing the values and principles developed in Copenhagen, we remain committed to connecting research with practice and fostering informed discussion about the issues shaping our world.

From Copenhagen to Auckland, our goal remains the same: making complex legal and technological ideas clear, actionable, and accessible for all.

The Centre for Advancing Law & Technology Responsibly at the University of Auckland brings you Legally Wired to explore these questions. Each episode features conversations with thought leaders, innovators, and experts at the intersection of law, technology, and sustainable progress — making complex ideas accessible and actionable. Our inaugural season, produced in collaboration with the AI Forum NZ, examined AI’s impact on the creative industries.

Copenhagen Legal Tech Lab

The Copenhagen Legal Tech Lab Podcast launched at the University of Copenhagen’s Faculty of Law to bridge the gap between the public and the evolving world of technology and law. Across three seasons, we examined innovation through the lens of people, technology, and business:

Season 1: Introduced various technologies and their legal vulnerabilities.

Season 2: paired 101s (introductions to technology and terminology) with subsequent deep dives into the same topics.

Season 3: “Rethinking Big Tech” marked an international collaboration with the UWA Tech and Policy Lab at The University of Western Australia, delving into Big Tech’s far-reaching impact on individuals and society.
