INITIATIVES
ALTeR initiatives connect research, education, and practice through targeted programs that bring external expertise, develop student talent, and catalyze experimentation. These initiatives operate across visiting fellows, student internships, and hackathons, aligned with ALTeR’s research mission.
VISITING FELLOWSHIPS
ALTeR’s Visiting Fellowships support short- and long-term research residencies for scholars and practitioners working at the intersection of law, technology, business, and sustainable innovation. Visiting Fellows contribute to the development of inclusive legal and policy frameworks through focused research, collaboration on active projects, and engagement with ALTeR’s global network of legal, business, and technology experts.
STUDENT COMMUNITY
ALTeR is committed to building a strong student community engaged in research and practice at the intersection of law, technology, business, and innovation. The Centre offers expansive opportunities for networking and professional development, including research assistant roles, while developing external placement opportunities with law firms and start-ups aligned with its research and policy mission.
LEGAL TECH HACKATHONS
ALTeR’s Legal Tech Hackathons engage students from across disciplines to design and prototype technology addressing complex challenges at the intersection of law, society, and innovation. These intensive, problem-driven events emphasise ethical and socially responsible technology development, with multidisciplinary teams supported by legal, community, and technology mentors and evaluated by industry experts.
